Build coverage when the evidence arrives.
Prepare source-defined topics now, then publish verified aggregates after official releases. A new census is a new geographic and statistical edition, not a replacement year pasted onto 2011 values.
The release workflow
- Register the original publication, table code, release date, coverage and correction notices.
- Retain the source document and checksum; extract exact values without inventing missing places or categories.
- Validate totals, sex/age/residence components and rounding. Keep unavailable and not-stated values separate.
- Review definitions and year-specific geographic codes; use a documented crosswalk only where genuinely compatible.
- Publish source-labelled tables, profiles, accessible charts and downloads as a distinct Census 2027 edition.
- Record revisions and refresh related comparisons from the same canonical data record.
Settlements, households and urbanisation
2011 source tables: PC11_A01, Primary Census Abstract.
2027 intake: Population/household and rural-urban place releases, only after publication.
What readers should get
- Nation-to-village drilldown
- Census town versus statutory town definitions
- Comparable directory and downloadable source-backed tables
Checks before publishing
- Store year-specific place codes and official boundary vintage
- Distinguish town, municipal city and urban agglomeration
- Validate total/rural/urban and household sums
- Do not project 2011 village results onto new boundaries
Age structure, children and ageing
2011 source tables: PC11_C14-00, Primary Census Abstract.
2027 intake: Published age-sex population tables.
What readers should get
- Population pyramid
- Child and older-adult comparison
- Sex ratios with transparent units
Checks before publishing
- Preserve age-not-stated
- Document child and elderly age thresholds
- Label any dependency ratio calculation and denominator
- Never mistake a child share for child sex ratio
Literacy and educational attainment
2011 source tables: PC11_C08-00.
2027 intake: Published education and digital-literacy tables.
What readers should get
- Education ladder beyond literacy headline
- Male/female and rural/urban differences
- Age-cohort comparisons
Checks before publishing
- Literacy denominator is age 7+
- Keep educational attainment distinct from attendance
- Do not compare new digital-literacy variable with absent 2011 counterpart
Migration and place of residence
2011 source tables: PC11_D03-00, D-03 district, city and UA variants after individual verification.
2027 intake: Published birthplace, last-residence, duration and reason tables.
What readers should get
- Migration reasons and rural/urban routes
- Internal versus international origin
- Duration-aware comparisons
Checks before publishing
- Distinguish birthplace from last residence
- Do not treat migrants as current annual flow
- Respect residence-duration bands and sex breakdown
- Do not fabricate district coverage from country/state file
Religious communities and social groups
2011 source tables: PC11_C01-00, PCA SC, PCA ST.
2027 intake: Published religion, SC/ST and caste aggregates, with official classifications.
What readers should get
- Balanced community tables
- SC/ST context with separate denominators
- Classification-aware 2011/2027 comparisons
Checks before publishing
- Retain other religions and not-stated
- SC/ST totals are not a full caste distribution
- Do not impute caste results from religion or surname
- Avoid treating future questionnaire as released caste data
Mother tongues and language communities
2011 source tables: PC11_C16-00.
2027 intake: Published mother-tongue and other-language tables.
What readers should get
- Language profiles for places
- Transparent language-family grouping
- Source-based multilingual context
Checks before publishing
- Preserve language and mother-tongue hierarchy
- Never add parent language plus component mother tongues
- Separate mother tongue from knowledge of additional languages
Disability and inclusion
2011 source tables: PC11_C20-00.
2027 intake: Published aggregate disability tables.
What readers should get
- Age/sex and residence breakdowns
- Accessible explanatory charts
- Clear limits on comparability
Checks before publishing
- Preserve official historical categories with respectful explanation
- Check denominator and age bands
- Document questionnaire/classification changes before trend statements
Housing, services and household assets
2011 source tables: PC11_HL14 (district files), PC11_HH01 (normal household size, distinct series).
2027 intake: Houselisting published aggregate tables on dwelling quality, water, sanitation, energy and assets.
What readers should get
- Water/sanitation/energy dashboards
- Housing tenure and condition
- Amenities linked to population context without pretending it is current census data
Checks before publishing
- Households and population are different denominators
- Exclude institutions where source does
- Do not confuse HH-14 references in older material with catalogue's HL-14 series
- Verify district files individually and don't treat Nawada example as national
- Assets can overlap and their shares need not total 100
Place coverage and cost
Expand villages, subdistricts and wards through verified official files and bounded search, keeping codes and source notes. Nationwide micro-area profiles are still a gap. Pages and downloads will remain static where practical; no paid per-visit AI or database is part of this plan.
Keep the historical 2011 atlas and original Blogger articles intact. Future comparison pages must explain changes in boundaries, categories and measurement. No release date for a future results table is promised.
