Arunachal Pradesh, the state with the least population density in India. It is located in North Eastern part of India. Itanagar is the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh. The population of Arunachal Pradesh as per the 2011 census is 1,382,611 compared to 1,097,968 in the 2001 census. In this decade the state of Arunachal Pradesh has registered a growth of 25.92% in total population. Arunachal Pradesh makes up a meager 0.11% of the total population of India.

Sex Ratio:
In 2011 there were a total of 720,232 males and 662,379 females in Arunachal Pradesh, the sex ratio for the state stands at 929 compared to 889 in the 2001 census. The child sex ratio too has seen an improvement for this state. The sex ratio for the state is comparatively better than the national average of India.

As per the census study of 2011, Arunachal Pradesh has a literacy rate of 66.95%. The male literacy is 73.69% and the female literacy is 59.57%. There is a noticeable improvement in literacy rate as compared to 2001 when the literacy rate in Arunachal Pradesh was 54.34 %.
